About Us

 We are Lawyers practicing in the Qatar International Court and Dispute Resolution Centre (QICDRC).  Our Law Firm is Al Khorri & Partners, a renowned law firm in Doha, Qatar. The Qatar International Court and Dispute Resolution Centre is located in the Qatar Financial Centre in Doha. 

 We appear in the QFC Regulatory Tribunal as well in the complaints filed by the individuals and corporate bodies against the QFC Authorities, QFC Regulatory Authority and Institutions.  The QFC Regulatory Tribunal is an Independent Authority constituted in pursuance to the QFC Laws. The parties can file their complaints with the Registrar and the Tribunal Registry is providing the management of the cases filed with the Tribunal.  The Tribunal is functioning based on the English Common Law and the Judges are of different English Common Law Jurisdictions.  

 As the Law No.2 of 2017 is introduced in Qatar, the parties to a contract related to commercial and civil matters have the option to exercise their choice to select the Qatar International Court and Dispute Resolution Centre as the competent court.  

 The parties to a commercial agreement can insert the following terms for selecting QICDRC as a competent Court:
Any dispute arising out of or in connection with this contract, including any question regarding its existence, validity or termination, shall be referred to and finally resolved by arbitration administered by [insert name of Arbitration Centre/Institution] in accordance with [insert name of applicable institutional rules] in force at the time the request for arbitration is submitted, which rules are deemed to be incorporated by reference in this clause.
The seat of the arbitration shall be Qatar.
The Arbitral Tribunal shall consist of [insert an odd number of arbitrator(s)] arbitrator(s). 
The language of the arbitration shall be [insert applicable language].
The Competent Court of the arbitration shall be the First Instance Circuit of the Civil and Commercial Court of the Qatar Financial Centre and, in the case of enforcement, the Competent Judge shall be the Enforcement Judge of the First Instance Circuit of the Civil and Commercial Court of the Qatar Financial Centre.

In the commercial and personal transactions the usage of cheques for banking requirements is a common practice in Qatar, like any other developed country.  The issuer of the cheque, handing over the signed cheque to the payee with the assurance that the cheque will be honored on presentation of the same in his bank. Rental Disputes in Qatar - Termination of lease without notice?

The disputes between landlord and tenant with regard to the commercial or residential building are resolved at the Rental Dispute Resolution Committee in Qatar.  This committee is resolving the rental disputes under Law No.4 of 2008 regarding property leasing.   As per Article 15 of Law No.4 of 2008 a lease deed shall be terminated at the end of the term specified in the agreement.  Moreover Article 582 of Law No.22 of 2004 regarding Promulgating he Civil Code says that  Lease is a contract under which the landlord enables the tenant to benefit from a particular item for a fixed period of time in return for a financial compensation.  So it is clear from these provisions of law that the lease contract is confined by time.  It is worth noting Article 625 Civil Law that the lease shall terminate upon the expiry of its term as stated therein without notice to vacate, unless it is agreed to extend the lease for a fixed or other term if no specif...

Attestation of documents by Advocate in Qatar
