The Family Law in Qatar (Law No.22 of 2006)

 The family law of Qatar allows expatriates residents in Qatar to approach family court for marriage, divorce, child custody, maintenance and such other personal rights related to family life.  

The family court in Qatar grants divorce, child custody and maintenance order to the foreigners living in Qatar.  Foreigners living in Qatar is the persons with residence permit in Qatar.  If any of the partner with residence permit can be made a party in the family court.  In the experience of my clients the decree of divorce of Family Court in Qatar is accepted in India, Sri Lanka, United States, United Kingdom and many other countries world wide.

In the commercial and personal transactions the usage of cheques for banking requirements is a common practice in Qatar, like any other developed country.  The issuer of the cheque, handing over the signed cheque to the payee with the assurance that the cheque will be honored on presentation of the same in his bank. Rental Disputes in Qatar - Termination of lease without notice?
